THROUGH THE YEARS

Something Wicked began as a simple Halloween costume party aimed at raising funds for the beautifully renovated Historic Masonic Theatre. Brittany Feazell, our Spookmaster General, grew up performing alongside her family at what was once the Stonewall Theatre and eagerly embraced the opportunity to help revive this historic venue. When she proposed hosting a grand Halloween celebration at the theatre, committee head John Hillert suggested taking it a step further with a full-fledged haunted house. Surprised, Brittany asked, “You’d let me do that?” to which John responded, “Why not?” Thus, history was made!

Now an established event, Something Wicked will always hold a special connection to the Historic Masonic Theatre. John Hillert was its champion, and the little haunted house that could owes its very existence to him. Though he passed away in 2017, his spirit lives on in every eerie corner of this beloved event.
